Week 36-- doctor appointment update!

Ok so I posted about my doctor appointment I had earlier in the week. {check it out here}  I told you all about the symptoms I was having & such.  Well since that appointment I have kept a very close eye on my blood pressure & was still very concerned with what was going on.  I absolutely could not wait another minutre for our appointment today! We started out with getting the biophysical ultrasound done-- they measured everything, checked his heart, lungs, kidneys, bladder, etc.  they all looked good & then she just watched for movement (which like I mentioned in the other post has been veryyyyyy minimal)  He wasn't moving hardly at all so she went and got this little buzzer thing that made a weird nose and vibrated she put it on my belly right where his head was and pushed it-- he didn't move so she did it again and got a small amount of movement out of him but not much so she did it again and he still just had little reaction to this but he was breathing very fast like it scared him but he still just didn't move much so she said that she would let the doc know and he would make a decision on what to do.  So after the ultrasound we had our meeting with the doc. did the norm weight= no gain today, blood pressure=in the "normal" range, protien in the urine= just a trace which is normal. So when the doc came in he was happy that all of that stuff was normal and he also said that the baby scored a 8 out of 8 on the biophysical! I am experiencing horrible swelling today so he didn't like that and told me I was no longer able to work that I had to have 2-3 hours of bed rest a day (hubs said he said twice a day but my mom and I only heard 2-3 hours a day so?) I was so glad that things looked normal today but I was reduced to tears still because I just feel like something is wrong that he is better out here in the real world than inside me... I feel like my body is going to fail him-- because just because everything is normal today doesn't mean tomorrow won't be a bad day... so I expressed how I felt to the doc and I also told him about the movement & he said that he was concerned also and that Monday we would come in to do a non-stress test on the baby to check movement and heart and such... so I'm glad that he is still taking steps to make sure that baby is ok and he said that he would rather have him out too before something bad happens and what not... so we "may" get induced next week... I will be full term on Monday!!!

Other Exciting news... He is currently weighing 6 lbs 14 oz!!! so he is a healthy weight!!

I am looking forward to the test Monday because I am only feeling him have very small light movements and I'm only feeling it about once an hour but there are times I will go 2 hours with no movement so I look forward to knowing he's still ok!

Also, baby shower is Sunday!! Can't wait for this!! :)

Week 36 ((it's getting real & scary))

So.. this week I started my weekly visits to the doctors until the little one decides to come! My Momma & Jayce went like always--they are the best support system ever I love having them at each & every doctors appointment!! Well, I have told you guys how bad my swelling is & how it concerned me but when I went to the doctors 2 weeks for my normal check up (@ 34 weeks) I asked them and they said that it was pretty normal but I needed to put my feet up as much as possible and all that normal jazz to help with the swelling.  I keep my feet up everytime I am at home--this week & last was pretty busy but the swelling I have sort of just got used to. Other than that and some pretty bad back & body aches I have felt pretty good over the past couple weeks.  So, I go to the docs on Tuesday & I get on the scale to see that I had gained weight... not just a little weight--I had weighed myself monday (I have been weighing myself every Monday since I was 16 weeks just so I know how much I am gaining) by the docs scale I was currently standing on I would've gained 14 pounds over night... yes 14 I'm like WOAH that can NOT be right explained to her that I had just weighed myself the day before and all that so she decided to take me to a different scale and see what it says... I instantly lost 6 lbs. thank god but... I was still by there scales up 8 pounds! 8 pounds overnight I thought this was crazy so I knew I had to way myself at home asap... so once I got home I hopped on my scale to see that I had honestly gained 5 pounds over night---FIVE POUNDS!! are you kidding me? How is this even possible!! I thought it was crazy but then I weighed myself yesterday to see that I was up 2.5 MORE pounds I try to weigh at the same time everyday so I haven't weighed myself today but I would be up a total of 7.5 pounds since Monday. Crazy I know but back to my doc appointment... so after we get the weight thing figured out I of course had to leave a urine sample for them to check... They check that and come in to tell me that I have protein in my urine then they take my blood pressure & that is slightly high ( not much but its higher than what normal is)... instantly I begain to kinda freak out in my head of course because I know from all the things I have read that...
  • rapid weight gain
  • protein in the urine
  • excessive swelling
  • high blood pressure
are all signs of preeclampsia... I'm sure all of you moms out there know what this is but if not....

What Is Preeclampsia?

Also referred to as toxemia, preeclampsia is a condition that pregnant women can get. It is marked by high blood pressure accompanied with a high level of protein in the urine. Women with preeclampsia will often also have swelling in the feet, legs, and hands. Preeclampsia, when present, usually appears during the second half of pregnancy, generally in the latter part of the second or in the third trimesters, although it can occur earlier.

*this information can be found  here.

This condition can be veryyy dangerours for the mother & the child... After discussing this with the doctor he told me he wanted to see me back on Friday instead of waiting a week & that they would be doing a biophysical ultrasound--this is to make sure everything is still ok for the baby.  I am so glad that we are getting the ultrasound done but at the same time I am still freaking out!! It doesn't matter where you read about preeclampsia you will read that the only "real" way to cure this is delivery of the baby.  To me this makes perfect since on Friday I will be 36w4d but I am to the point where if all the symptoms are still there on Friday when I go back for my appointment why risk leaving the little guy in there and possibly have the problem worsen to the point where we don't have an option other than to get him out & get him out FAST where if he would induce labor now/soon we would be okay.  I'm not sure what is going to or will happen but I know this worrying is just getting worse I document every movement from the little guy just so I know exactly when the last kick was and how long it had bene since I felt him last! The whole situation is becoming unbelievably stressful I'm not sure how they expect me to make it the next 4 weeks with this kind of worrying! BUT hopefully tomorrow after my appointment I will have some kind of good news to tell you guys!!

Hope everyone else is having a wonderful week!!

week wrap up! :) 35 weeks!!

So I feel like all my link ups are taking over my blog but I love doing them because it gives my followers a chance to find some random little facts about me & really get to know what I'm all about. :) So, I will most likely continue to do all of them but I'm going to try to have more original posts just from me too! I know I've been slacking, sorry!! :)

So this week we has been crazy busy for us!! Here is a play by play for you!!

Monday- Valentines Day:: Worked alll day & most of the evening dinner with the hubs!

Tuesday- My 22nd Birthday:: Got a massage: it was super relaxing but I wasn't very happy with the service I received simply because she only did the massage for about 45-50 minutes and it was suppose to be a full hour! But for the time she did do the massage that it was nice & I used my gift certificate I got for Christmas so it was a nice gift! We went up to my parents to get my gift from them (dinner & a movie & money) exactly what I asked for! Then Hubs & I went to dinner at a local bar & then we went to the movies and watched Just Go With It--Amazing movie We both loved it!! :)

Wednesday-- I worked & then we had our last birthing classes:: I loved this taking this class!! I meant being a first time mom I have no idea what I'm doing when it comes to this pregnancy and the labor & delivery so... I needed this to feel more comfortable and relaxed about what is happening & going to happen! It was so eye opening!! Jayce also really liked the class! :) I now have a much better idea of what kind of labor I hope to have! At first I wanted to try and go as natural as possible & I'm still hoping to experience a lot of the labor natural but I do plan on getting an epidural once I get pretty miserable and uncomfortable... I mean I guess the way I look at it is if I can be comfortable & enjoy my labor & delivery I might as well! The nurse who taught the course said that in our community 95% of women get an epidural!! I thought this was crazy I knew a lot of women would get it but I didn't realize that it was that high of a statistic! So, it made me feel more comfortable with my decision on getting it.  We also had our tour of the L & D part of the hospital & the rooms & services that they offer at the hospital we are delivering at our AWESOME!! The rooms are spacious & have a lot of things to try & help make you as comfortable as possible they also have a delivery suite that is offered to their patients that have a jacuzzi tub in the room & is even bigger than the other rooms!! I really like this I'm a big fan of the shower/bath/pool/hot tub/etc. if I am in pain or don't feel well... so, I'm hoping this room is available when I go in labor!!

Thursday--Birthday Celebration Evening:: So, I spent the day doing a lot of nothing & then when hubs got off work we went to Babies R Us to add some stuff to our registry because my shower is next weekend so, we wanted to make sure that everything was on it that we needed!! (we only ended up adding 2 things--hahah!)  We then met my friends at my favorite restaurant Takaoka!! This was a blast!!  We used to go to dinner here every couple months together & we hadn't in awhile so it was nice to do that again! After dinner we came home & I thought we would just relax watch a little TV & go to bed but much to my surprise my friends came over & brought a cake & Jayce gave me my bday present--Quelf the board game that I told everyone I was asking for and sooo excited to get!! Well our plans were to play that but then we ended up sitting around chit chatting for too long and it got a little to late for us to be able to play it so we have a rain date on our game time! This was such a fun night!! I seriously needed this evening to remind me just how awesome my husband and friends really are!! :) They made me feel so loved & reminded me that no matter how much time passes or how busy our lives get that we still can get together and not feel like we missed a beat!! :)

Friday--Work:: I had to work & Hubs had to work so once I got off I went to dinner with my parents, brother & sister-in-law. I then went back to my parents and hung out with them until it was time for Jayce to get off.  We then came home & just went to bed it was a pretty boring day!

Saturday--Party Day:: Was a busy day for us... We had to get our taxes done (which we were dreading) we were pretty nervous that we would be owing a lot since Jayce won the lottery this year but we actually walked out of our appt a lot happier than we expected so that was a relief for us! :) Then we had our nephews 2nd birthday party so we went their for a bit but had to leave to come to my families celebration of our February Birthdays--their are a lot of bdays in Feb.  We brought Quelf with us & played that it was a BLAST to say the least!! I also got my first "aunt" card from Marissa!! I was pretty excited about it!! hahah!
Oh yeah we also cleaned out the babies room so now everything is put away where it goes... all we need to do is get his decor stuff put up which we are still waiting on getting the main focus of his room so... until we get that we probably won't be putting anything up!

Sunday(today)-- Today we got up went to church, had lunch with laura, now the Hubs is napping & I am writing this before I go to a 31 gifts party--I'm not quite sure what this is but I'm excited to go with my mom it's at my aunts so I'm looking forward to shopping! :) Later Jayce & I have our 2nd Financial Peace University Class which I am SOOOOO excited about I seriously can't get enough of this because I feel like it's changing our lives already & we have only been to one class! I look forward to letting you guys know what I learn this week--also all of our class workbooks & stuff should be in so I'm excited to get that so I can go over it more than once a week! :)

Pregnancy update/survey::
So I am wrapping up week 35 & I'm so excited to say that!! I love being pregnant I really really do but now I am getting to the point where I just want the little guy here.  I'm also beginning to worry a lot more about little things that I shouldn't really stress about but I just want to know that he is healthy so I would just feel better if he was here so I would know he is ok! I'm worried that the longer he is in their something might happen?? I have read to many horror stories about women losing there children this late in their pregnancy so I am getting to the point where its really affecting me... I want a healthy baby more than anything in this world so there are times where I get to the point of tears worrying about this but I know that God would never give me something I can't handle I also know that everything will be fine I just need to not worry!!

How far along?  35 weeks

Total weight gain/loss:  30+ lbs.

Maternity clothes?  yep--

Sleep:  This really depends on the night... it hasn't been horrible lately... I know it will get worse!

Best moment this week:  getting the tour of L & D at the hospital--getting his room cleaned--only 29 days left less than a month!! :)

Movement:  he still moves a lot but he isn't "kicking" or "hitting" as much its more like his just squirming around to get comfy.

Food cravings:  cookie dough blizzards from DQ :)

What I miss:  my normal feet still!! :)

What I am looking forward to:  our appt this week!! we start our weekly appts!! My baby shower next Sunday!! :)

Milestones:  being only a week away from being considered "full-term"

Pregnancy Symptoms:  well I am more aching than ever... my feet and ankles are swelling like crazy & I have been pretty moody this week!!

Stretch Marks:  hahah! well I thought I was still sitting pretty good when it comes to these but I guess I thought that because I can no longer see the bottom of my belly so the other day while I was trying to find something to wear I looked in the mirror and much to my surprise & horror I discovered that I have gotten a lot more of these than I remember!! I guess it's a good thing I can't see my lower belly unless I look in the mirror! :)

Belly button: still at the awkward stage--where you think it's going to pop but it STILL hasn't so I think it will stay this way!!

Valentines Day Recap.

So Jayce & I have never been ones to celebrate Valentines day... some years we get eachother presents some years we get cards some years we don't get eachother anything.  I blame this on my birthday falling the day after Valentines day (today). So, I normally feel bad and tell him not to get me anything for Valentines day since he has to get me something for my birthday! :)

Yesterday was a busy day for us... He worked his normal day till 4 I worked till 6 He had basketball practice till 630.  We knew we wouldn't be seeing eachother until around 7.  We hadn't got eachother anything and I planned on getting him a card but that sorta slipped my mind too! So, I went to work & when I got home of course he was at practice and normally the first place I go when I get home is the bathroom I mean I pee every 30 minutes it seems like so he knew I would be heading there first... I walk in to see that he has somehow managed to write on the mirror and he made me a card :)

seriously this meant more to me than ANY present or store bought card ever would. He wrote the sweetest stuff in the card that made me bawl like a baby! :) He also took me to dinner-- we were going to go to Casa's for dinner but then I knew I needed to go to my parents and that it would be to late so we just stayed in town for dinner.  It was nice not having to cook or clean up anything!  I actually hadn't done anything for Jayce until I saw his homemade card so I decided I would make him one too! :) I would say our Valentines Day was a complete Success!! :)

Also, My parents paid for us to take the course-- Financial Peace University!!

Jayce & I are sooo excited to participate in this course! We are excited to see what comes for us! We had our first class Sunday & it lasts for 13 weeks-- totally just a learning process & we are really interested in everything that Dave Ramsey teaches! This course isn't just for people that are struggling with money problems but its for anyone it seriously just teaches you how to be smart with your money! :) Check out for yourself what his method is all about...  Go Here!!

34 weeks (only a day late)

So technically I am 35 weeks today but I was super busy this weekend so I didn't get a chance to post the survey to week 34 or some pictures...

So here ya go:

How far along?  34 weeks!! (6 weeks left--7 @ the most)

Total weight gain/loss:  30+ lbs.

Maternity clothes?  yep.

Sleep:  Depends on the day... I'm up about every 2 hours but when Jayce goes to work I switch to the couch and seem to sleep better there!

Best moment this week:  getting some motivation and cleaning most of my house!! :) & Jayce got us all caught up on our laundry!! :) Also, we had our first L & D class at the hospital & we both LOVED it--We got a lot of really great information can't wait for this weeks class we get to tour the L & D portion of the hospital!!

Movement:  Still there some days more so than other-- The other night Jayce & I were in the car listening to the music kinda loud and Baby was kicking in a rhythmic pattern it was to funny--felt like he was having a dance party!!

Food cravings:  Well this week it really hasn't been anything specific-- I used to have a normal to small appetite but this week I have noticed I can eat a lot more than what I used to & I can eat whenever--even if I just got done eating! (not a good thing! :))

What I miss:  my normal feet!!

What I am looking forward to:  Well today is V-day even though Jay & I won't see each other until about 7 tonight I'm looking forward to dinner with him, tomorrow is my birthday so of course I'm looking forward to that, Wednesday is our L & D class, Thursday we are going to Takaoka (my fav. restaurant) with my friends, Friday Jayce has to work, Saturday we have a couple bday parties (including mine) & Sunday we have church & a financial workshop course we are taking--- So We have a veryyyyy busy week but it should be a lot of fun & go Really fast!! (each passing weeks means we are closer to finally having our little guy with us so I'm ok with busy weeks!! :)

Milestones:  Beginning our L & D classes so now we feel even more ready for him.

Pregnancy Symptoms:  well I am more aching than ever... my feet and ankles are swelling like crazy but other than that I don't have any other symptoms! :)

I posted this in another post but I had posted so much yesterday that this wasn't popping up when people would stop by and visit! So, I wanted to post it agian incase anyone had some suggestions for me!

a. my cankles that have appeared!
b. one of the swollen ankles.
c. if you press on my ankles or my legs it leaves a indent like the one shown above that stays for quite awhile it is not pretty & I'm thinking its pretty bad but I never noticed swelling until the other day and they were already like this!
These pictures don't do the swelling of my legs and ankles justice-- It looks worse in person!
{any suggestions other than to keep my feet up & to watch my sodium would be awesome}

I've looked up the symptoms and it is a condition called pitting edema it can be a sign of a couple different things but I'm thinking I don't have any other problems other than just the pitting edema but I have an appt on Friday so we will see what the doc or Nurse Prac. has to say about it! Like I said earlier any suggestions would be appreciated!!

Tasty Tuesday!

{to see this larger just click on the image}

I posted this recipe last month
But I have been wanting them lately so I will probably be enjoying these while watching the biggest loser tonight!!
--anyone else watch Biggest Loser?? Who's your favorite team?? I love the aqua team & the yellow team.  I swear when I watch it it makes me want to eat though! :)
Enjoy the Recipe!!

Motivation?= Success!

So I was able to clean my living room, kitchen & the bathroom!!
I still need to do the computer room & our bedroom-- I also need to do laundry.
Yay! For what I did accomplish though!! :)
Thinking I may need to reward myself by going & getting a pedicure!
But I've used all my energy & not sure I feel like getting ready.

Onto the swelling & water retention I wrote about on my previous post!

33w6d. survey!

How far along?  33 weeks!!--7 more to go!

Total weight gain/loss? I gained a couple pounds but I'm still around 20-25 lbs.

Cravings?. well since I have been told I can't have sweets or pop--I really really want some sweets :[ I haven't had any though!! So, cravings I had to get some cheetos puffs this week but other than that I haven't craved anything. :)

Best moment this week: I haven't really had a good week--been very miserable so the only really good thing that happened this week is Grandpa got to come HOME!!

Gender:  Boy.

What I miss:  the nice enjoyable pregnancy I was/(kinda am) experiencing I have been nothing but miserable this week I feel like every part of me aches I think this little guy has ran out of room in there and its causing me to be nothing short of miserable.

What I am looking forward to:  I am so going to get a prenatal massage THIS week!--After all the aches and pains this week I am in desperate need of one I was trying to hold on getting this because I have a feeling this is only going to get worse but I can't wait anymore.

Symptoms: aches & pains for sure!!

Belly Button in or out?  getting closer & closer to popping every week!

Movement: all the time!

Sleep:  I don't get much of this anymore I am up at least 4-6 times a night!

Emotions:  good :)

Milestones:  getting closer & closer to the EDD Can't believe that as of tomorrow I will only have 6 weeks left!! crazy!!

Stretchies:  no new ones.

This week has been a rough one.  I have been reduced to tears because of the pain in my back/shoulder! I don't know what it is but I can't hardly move without sharp pain.  I'm thinking it just means that the baby has ran out of room which would make sence considering I'm 5 foot nothing so their isn't much room I'm pretty short & not much of a torso.

We have started taking guesses on this little guys weight & whether he will come early or late.  all the guesses on weight are between 8lbs-almost 10 lbs. (my dad guessed the largest weight so far being 9 lbs 13 oz--he wants to kill me!) Hubs & I both guessed 8 lbs 11 oz. so I thought it was crazy that we guessed the same guess! I think he coming early and so does a lot of other people only 1 person has said they think he will come a week late.  I also thought forsure that this little boy was a girl so, I have a feeling that he could come late since I think he is def coming earlier. :)

Like I mentioned earlier Grandpa is HOME!! He was able to come home because he didn't run a fever-- come to find out the medicine they were giving him was what was causing the fevers and making his stay extended!! Now he is home just waiting for his surgery! So thank each and everyone of you for all your thoughts & prayers!! :)

I hope everyone has a very relaxing Sunday!! I'll be stuck watching the superbowl with the Hubs & his family!! I'm hoping that the Packers win--My husband wouldn't be happy if he saw that since we are Bears fans! :) I am also hoping for noooo more snowww!! Have a great week everyone!! :) I know I will starting Tuesday (I get caffiene back!! I am going to def be watching how much I eat/drink of it but hey maybe I won't want it so bad if I know I CAN have it)

Playing Catch Up!

I feel like I have tons to blog about so hopefully none of it slips my mind! :)

First off to get everyone caught up on my personal January Challenge--Cooking at Home.
Last week Jayce & I ate at my parents all week but Wednesday and we ate out--with them though!
With my grandpa in the hospital we spend most are evenings there so before we go to the hospital we go to my parents to just visit and of course eat dinner then we all head over to the hospital.  So I'm not doing to hot cooking at home but I am at least still eating a home cooked meal.
So far this week we ate out with my parents on Monday & we ate out Wednesday night also. Tuesday we cooked at home though we had Biscuits & Gravy, of course!
So.. as all of you can see I'm not doing to hot anymore but thats what happens when my life gets busy & I don't spend much time at home.  I'm hoping my grandpa gets out of the hospital soon that will help slow my evenings down a bit, also the poor guy has been stuck in that hospital for wayyy to long.

Update on my Grandpa.
Well as you already know he is still in the hospital.  They figured out what was wrong with him a couple days after being admitted but they can't seem to fix the problem.  He is still getting a very high fever at times & they can't figure out what is causing the fevers.  He is exhausted, I mean you can't really "rest" in a hospital.  He also has developed a horrible cough.  When he was first admitted they wanted to do the surgery in 6 weeks well now they are saying that if he can't get rid of this infection & the fevers soon that they will be doing the surgery sooner, which isn't a good thing they are afraid that if they open him up the infection could spread so we are hoping to be able to hold off on the surgery for as long as possible.  These past couple weeks though have been so hard to go into the hospital each day and one day he is great and should be getting to go home within the next couple days and then you go back the next day and he doesn't look good and you know that his fever came back and that he won't be getting to go home within the time frame they had said the previous day.  He seems to be getting frusterated, as is everyone else.  Something needs to be done he got another Ct Scan done yesterday so the results should be back in today so hopefully we have only good news from that!

Pregnancy Update
Well this past week I noticed a few symptoms of pregnancy that concerned me.  I told my mom about it and she told me a couple of things she thought it could be... one being that I possibly had a urinary tract infection--I told her I didn't think it was that because I wasn't peeing that often & it wasn't painful.  Well on Sunday & Monday I had been having Braxton Hicks contractions off and on.  I also was still experiencing the creepy concerning symptoms and I was having a lot of lower back pain over the weekend.  I was searching the web reading all about the possible things that could be wrong with me, something that I do that I know I shouldn't.  I always get myself worried thinking that worst thing possible.  Well I had emailed my doctor about everything and they wanted me to come in so I had scheduled an appt and went in on Tuesday.  I met with the Nurse Practioner.  She was nice & new exactly what was wrong.  I gave them a urine sample like always and she said that I defiantly had a pretty bad urinary tract infection & that I had a lot of sugar in my urine so she told me I could have absolutely NO caffiene & little-to-no sugar.  I was so glad to know what was wrong with me but sooo bummed about the no caffiene--anyone that knows me knows I am addicted to reese's and well that had been my breakfast for the past couple weeks I would eat the valentine reese's every morning and now I can't have them because of the caffiene in the chocolate!! That really sucked! I had also been eating a chocolate chip cookie everyday from the hospital and now I can't have that either. I drink pepsi not a lot but I had been drinking it & obviously you know I can't have that either.  She said that I couldn't have any caffiene for a week.  I'll survive but after being told what I can't have of course everything that is off limits looks delish & makes me feel like I'm highly deprived even though I know I'm not.
Some of you readers may remeber back when I was like 18-22 weeks I had a lot of sugar in my urine so I had to take the glucose test & barely passed then I had to take it again at the normal 28 weeks & I again barely passed well... I'm almost wondering if I've developed Gestional diabetes-- I am going to go get a little blood sugar tester thing and test myself to see if that reads normal.  I'm praying that this isn't the case but my doctor told me numerous times you can develop it at any time during pregnancy so its a possibility!
Jayce & I were suppose to have our first birthing class last night but due to this wonderful snow storm we recieved the class was cancelled so we have to start that next Wednesday, I am so excited for this I'm just so curious about everything I'm def looking forward to it!! Oh & I almost forgot to mention the Nurse Practioner did check me & sadly enough my cervix is still closed!

I'm hoping you all have had a wonderful week so far-- I'm a over this snow storm! Hoping that Spring is right around the corner & it begins to warm up before the little one arrives!! :)

Thanks for reading!!
